Cap Horn et le canal Beagle - Cape Horn and Beagle Chanel

Notre nouvelle maison pour les 11 jours suivant était un voilier de 12m nommé Nunatak.

Départ d'Ushuaia à destination de la Isla Navarino pour un rapide arrêt administratif à Puerto Williams. De là, nous avons navigué vers le sud jusqu'à atteindre le mytique Cap Horn. Puis nous sommes remontés vers le nord pour rejoindre le canal Beagel. Nous avons mouillé dans quelques baies pour faire des promenades à terre, des ballades à cheval chez un gaucho ou encore faire un barbecue sur la plage et sous le soleil face à un glacier. Loin de toutes civilisations nous avons uniquement croisé la route d'orques, d'une baleine à bosse, de lions de mer, de cormorans, de manchots de Magellan et d'albatros.
Un voyage étourdissant...

From Ushuaia go direction Isla Navarino for a quick stop at Puerto Williams. From their we head direction south to sail around the mystical Cape Horn. From south we change direction to north to head direction the Beagle Channel. We stopped at several bays to either go for walks, galloping with a gaucho or just having barbecue under a blue sky in front of a glacier. All of this with practically no soul near us. On our way we met Orcas, Humpback whale, Sea-lions, Cormorans, Magellan Penguins, Albatros.
A beautiful magical trip that just blowed our heads away....

Notre groupe était une fois de plus composé uniquement de Gaulois, nous naviguions même sous pavillon Breton, le "Gwenn ha du".

Our group was once again pure Gaul. We even sailed under the ensign of Brittany named the "Gwenn ha du".

Les "Dientes de Navarino". Ces montagnes qui se situent sur la Isla de Navarino permettent la randonnée la plus australes au monde. C'était notre destination de départ... mais parfois les plans peuvent changer pour encore mieux!!

En chemin vers le Cap Horn, la première nuit et la journée suivante furent très agitées. Pendant que les garçons, à l'exterieur, faisaient en sorte que nous arrivions sains et saufs, nous les filles, en sécurité à l'intérieur, profitions de ces montagnes russes maritimes!

The first night and day, when heading to the Cap Horn the weather was pretty bad. While the guys were outside making sure we arrive safely we girls were inside enjoying the rollercoaster.

A l'approche du Cap Horn, nous avons tous dû attacher nos harnais pour s'assurer qu'aucun ne tombe dans ces eaux agitées et glacées.

Once arrived in the area of the Cap Horn we all had to attach ourselves to make sure no one falls into the icy wavy water

La tradition veut que le capitaine fasse péter le bouchon de champagne devant le Cap, si le bouchon touche le pont lorsqu'il retombe, cela signifie "Chance"; Le capitaine a réussi son coup et nous a apporté la chance qui nous a suivi sur ce voyage....

Tradition is to open a bottle of champagne in front of the Cape. The captain gets on the deck to pop the bottle. If the corks lands back on the deck, you have luck. The captaine did well and gave us luck which followed us on the rest of the trip.....

Nous avons dabord dû rabattre les chevaux pour pouvoir ensuite les monter pour une sensationelle ballade dans le vent et la pluie se finissant par un triple galop effréné.

We first had to go and search for the horses before we could go for a great ride with wind, rain and great gallop.

Le ciel bleu et un soleil radieux nous ont accompagnés tout au long de notre navigation dans le canal Beagle.

Colonies de Lions de mer et de Cormorans partageant le même petit îlot.

Et nous avons pu observer ces Lions de mer d'encore plus près. Les bébés étaient particulièrement bruyants et nageaient autour et sous le bateau.

We managed to get even closer than this to the Sea-lions. The babies were very nosey and swimming around and under the boat.

Le dernier coucher de soleil de notre séjour sur Nunatak, sur le chemin du retour vers Ushuaia. Grâce à ce voyage, un rêve est devenu réalité pour chacune de nous.

This was the beautiful sunset of our last trip on the boat going back direction Ushuaia. A dream has come true for both of us with this trip. Thanks for the magic.
