Ancien temple Inca "Qoricancha", Qoric = Or en quechua. La grande muraille noire sous la cathedral est une partie de construction de la Inca originale. Elle a résisté au gros tremblement de 1950 alors que les tours de la cathedrale ont cedé...Francisco Pizarro a fait cadeau de ce temple a son frère Juan qui l'a lui même légué aux Dominicains à sa mort. Ils ont construit la premiere cathedrale dominicaines sur les fondations du temple Inca.
C'est avec les décorations de ce temple qu'a été fondu la majeur partie de l'or qui a servi à verser la rançon pour liberer Athahualpa. La valeur de cet rançon est estimée à 60 millions d'euros. Pourtant Pizzaro l'a empoché mais a tout de même executé l'empereur Inca à Cajamarca.

Francisco Pizarro gave the tempel to his brother Juan . The latter one left it to the dominicans at his death. They than built the first dominican church of the country and destroyed most of the tempel.
It is from this tempel that Atuhalpa got the gold and silver worth 60million euros to bring to Pizarro when he kept him captured in Cajamarca. It was suppose to free Atuhalpa, but he still got killed and the tempel destroyed.
Aucun ciment n'a été utilisé à la construction des murs. La precision est simplement époustouflante. Encore aujourd'hui nous ne savons pas exactement comment les Incas procedaient. Ils n'avaient pas d'écriture, ils ne nous ont donc pas laissé d'indices.
The Incas didn't use any concrete to build their walls. The preciceness is amazing. Today we don't know how they did it...The Incas couldn't write so they couldn't leave us any hints.
